Graciela Maria - Many Places (2011)

Graciela María es una cantante y compositora mexicana. Vivió en Ciudad de México durante varios años siendo parte de la escena musical electrónica del país y colaborando con productores locales.

En 2009 conoció en NYC a el productor afincado en Berlín, Robot Koch con motivo de su show en Coco66, en Brooklyn. Ambos comenzaron a hacer música juntos y Graciela participó en el álbum de Robot ‘Death Star Droid‘ así como en el EP ‘Listen To Them Fade‘. Ese año marcó el futuro profesional, musical y geográfico de Graciela cuando se trasladó de México D.F. a Berlín y comenzó a ofrecer shows por todo el mundo colaborando junto a Robot Koch tocando en todos los rincones del mundo, desde el Festival Sónar de Barcelona, hasta en algunos festivales de arte alternativo en Bulgaria o Túnez.

Con ‘Many Places‘, el maravilloso álbum debut de Graciela María, ella dió un paso al frente en la electrónica y el dubstep de la mano de Koch. La música de Graciela bebe de cantantes y compositores clásicos como Tim Buckley y Elliot Smith, pero con una música, producción y directo mucho más orgánico y electrónico gracias a el trabajo previo de Robot.
La letra de las canciones evocan rincones de cualquier parte del mundo. Viajes y vivencias de muchos lugares. Y sus clichés, surrealistas y personales, son interpretados como el uso de un arma arrojadiza sobre los oyentes.

Para crear el sonido retro, orgánico y futurista del álbum, Robot Koch contó con su amigo y compañero Sneaky (Fingathing / Ninja Tune). Incorporaron contrabajos, percusiones en directo, chelos y otros instrumentos de cuerda así como un sutil toque de vanguardia electrónica por el que Koch es conocido.
